Blog #2: HUMAN TISSUE?
Okay. I should have expected responses like that.
I want to stay anonymous as, needless to say, I have a career to think about. A career in biochemistry. I have studied thousands upon thousands of tissue samples as part of my work, compiling a database of common biochemical properties found in humans in different parts of the country as part of a university-funded project.
Recently, I received a sample that did not make sense.
To begin with, the tissue demonstrated amazing but strange properties. Most samples do not ‘live’ beyond a certain shelf-life even in neutral conditions. This sample survived an array of tests relating to extreme temperatures and even against adverse chemical elements.
That was until I left the sample in the sunlight.

And this was on a grey English day!
Some form of enzyme which, in human tissue, combusts if exposed to sunlight. I’m a scientist – but I’ve read horror books too.
Have I stumbled onto the chemistry behind vampires?
Seriously. Let’s pretend I don’t get out the lab much. Is there anything out there that’s…weird? Strange deaths? Markings? Communication that shows hunting grounds?
I don’t know what I’m looking for. Apart from answers. This was human tissue - but human tissue shouldn’t end up looking like this just because it’s not night time!
