Blog #3: SOMEONE IS WATCHING.
Okay. You can’t tell but my hands are shaking as I type this.
The second I mentioned all of this to one of my colleagues, I was paid a visit by two men coming to audit the samples in my lab that same evening.
They wanted to know why one of the samples was missing – guess which one.
I explained that it had been tainted by external factors (like bursting into flame when exposed to sunlight) and could I get another sample to continue my research. They left quickly after that.
The next morning, the database for that entire batch of samples had corrupted on my computer.
I had a residual amount of the sample still on a slide from just before I placed the rest near the sunny window. I tried to cultivate more but I managed to destroy it too. That was just with a simple saline solution.
Salt water.
How can matter survive the experiments I conducted and yet only die when it’s introduced to sunlight or salt? There isn’t much in nature that does that. So what are we talking about here?
. . . . .
I may not be in touch for a while as I have a lecture tour coming up.
I know I’ll have access to the internet wherever I go but…I need some time to think about all of this.
I’m hoping to cross paths with a sociology professor when our tours cross in London. His ideas are a little out there and go against the grain of most in his field.
…But then I’m going to be talking to him about vampires.
I appreciate that the few of you out there actually reading this aren’t taking me seriously - but the website statistics show me that you are out there. There are two IP addresses that have been logging onto this site several times every day for the weeks this site has been live.
Who are you? Are you just laughing at me?

Caitlin – sorry for delay. The tissue was dead. Yet it reacted. I don’t know how else to describe it. Plus, and this isn’t very scientific, whenever I was in the lab with the sample, I just felt… scared.

That certainly sounds pretty weird.

This is a sad lesson of what happens when you spend your days around too many chemicals!
