Blog #2: HUMAN TISSUE?
Okay. I should have expected responses like that.
I want to stay anonymous as, needless to say, I have a career to think about. A career in biochemistry. I have studied thousands upon thousands of tissue samples as part of my work, compiling a database of common biochemical properties found in humans in different parts of the country as part of a university-funded project.
Recently, I received a sample that did not make sense.
To begin with, the tissue demonstrated amazing but strange properties. Most samples do not ‘live’ beyond a certain shelf-life even in neutral conditions. This sample survived an array of tests relating to extreme temperatures and even against adverse chemical elements.
That was until I left the sample in the sunlight.

And this was on a grey English day!
Some form of enzyme which, in human tissue, combusts if exposed to sunlight. I’m a scientist – but I’ve read horror books too.
Have I stumbled onto the chemistry behind vampires?
Seriously. Let’s pretend I don’t get out the lab much. Is there anything out there that’s…weird? Strange deaths? Markings? Communication that shows hunting grounds?
I don’t know what I’m looking for. Apart from answers. This was human tissue - but human tissue shouldn’t end up looking like this just because it’s not night time!

You find an interesting tissue sample and your first guess is vampires? And you’re a SCIENTIST?? wtf

Hi. What ‘amazing but strange properties’ did the sample have? Like regeneration?
Thanks, Caitlin.

Hi Caitlin. Yes. The few experiments I had time to carry out showed that it was human tissue but as if it had been exposed to something that was mutating the cells. It demonstrated incredible resilience and healing properties but with the serious side effects as shown in the picture above. Can I ask why?

Hi sorry I only just started reading your blog! I don’t know if I believe in vampires but I have had a strange paranormal experience before and If this is real and your science is right then i’m gunna sleep with the light on tonite!
