Blog #10: CHESTER WAS ATTACKED
Chester Rickwood was attacked last night, coming out of a date of his lecture tour.
First things first, he’s fine. A bit shaken but he’s still talking a mile-a-minute which means he’ll be okay.
He’s had aggravation and bother after several of his live talks so he has long since made a habit of leaving out the back way. Unfortunately, last night’s venue backed into a poorly lit alley.
Chester just had time to light a cigarette before some figure leapt at him. Chester says his attacker was growling. He remembers teeth too. Whoever it was smashed Chester’s head against the wall, so take what he told me next with a pinch of salt.
I fell to the floor, my attacker standing over me. Out of nowhere, something leapt on its back. Like a giant cat or something at first as it swung out of nowhere. He said it was like a man, but strangely shaped. It went swinging from one corner of the alley to the other – almost like it was flying until it clamped itself firmly to the guy who hit me.
The fight took itself round the corner out of Chester’s sight. All of a sudden, there was a piercing howl of pain. Chester tried to pull himself up and struggle round the corner but there was no sign of Chester’s attacker.
Just the small dark shape, rubbing dust or some kind of powder off its hands.
Chester said he tried to help his rescuer but the shape suddenly hoisted itself up and along a wall until it was suspended over the concussed Chester. “You should be more careful. I might not have seen this coming. And your book’s full of shit“ said the shape before it vanished, leaving Chester alone in the alleyway.
I’d have been slightly sceptical had a contact of mine not uploaded some strange CCTV footage from near where Chester was attacked.
Chester’s cancelled the rest of his tour. He strikes me as the kind of guy who’d be more hurt by the book criticism than a physical attack.
But he’s afraid.
Whatever it was that attacked Chester, there’s something out there that seems to know what’s happening and seems able to do something about it. I don’t know whether that makes me feel safer…
Or more scared than before.

When I was out one night, a homeless guy I bought a burger for told me about a small figure who had intervened when they were being mugged by a gang of lads.

@BuffEnough If I’m honest, your question about the salt is what’s been keeping me in the labs most nights!
As far as I can guess so far, it might be like us and oxygen: We need it to survive but pure oxygen can have a damaging effect.
I’m trying to work out if the other constituents of blood (human or animal) act as some kind of filter or dilutes our body’s salt into something they can use.
I’ll keep working on it.

Is holy water basicaly sailine (I cant spell sorry) When I was young I had a tour round an old nunnery and they told us that Holy Water is basicaly salt water that’s blessed. Could that be why they don’t like salt?

In Greece there is a happy vampire called Catacano. It grins constantly, showing its pearlies. It spits blood on people who become its victims. If they get spat on then the bloody discharge burns. To kill this vampire, you isolate it behind salt water…which could be a clue to ring of salt? If salt water doesn’t work then you boil its head in vinegar…

Questions about the CCTV footage:
Why and what does the little scurrying thing scrawl on the wall? Is it just a mark, like a very primative tag or something more?
Who is the guy walking past? Did he see the little thing because he looks completely oblivious to its presence.

its hard to tell but to me it looks like the smaller figure wasnt there before like he’d gone over to see what first guy had writen or drawn there.
I only say drawn cos the flyer the other day says the Milo guy started as a street artist.

Is it me or does the little thing not appear on certain cameras? Now, I wouldn’t like to seem un-scientific but perhaps its something to do with the street lights? Seems much darker in some angles than others.

That’s Chester’s ‘tattoo’ on his face. I’m not sure if I believe him but he’s definitely had it the few times I’ve met him in person. He says he likes calculating peoples’ reactions to him when he’s walking down the street.
To be honest, what got him hooked on playing along on this site was that he wanted to study how (in his own words) a ‘ghost story could make the waifs and strays of different cities huddle together for comfort’.
He didn’t exactly have the best attitude at times but his heart was in the right place.

I’ve looked at the CCTV footage again and in one of the angles there appears to be someone laying on the floor in a pool of blood (as best as I can see from the poor quality footage) But it’s not there in the same angle earlier on … is there no constant footage just from that angle? The body must have appeared somehow, unless it just materialised …

Youre right tho. I really hadnt notice before. Its definitely the same street though. I thought it could be a different salt circle nearby (you know - cos they’re easier to make appear than it is to make bodies disappear). But all the signs match up in the background.
There’s no clock either so we dont know how long we were looking at the other street!

I think the body is the second guy we see walking away earlier. Same colour clothes (yeah yeah — i know. they’re all grey!!) If the artist one is Milo then it looks like hanging round with him doesn’t end well!!

I’m seriously worried now. It’s a friend at the Police force who helped us when my student Claire was attacked. Certain details were left off the official report so that Claire didn’t sound like she was making things up and so that neither I or this police officer lost our jobs.
K-Holed is right. That does look like a body. But there’s been no report of any such incident. Chester’s attack was the big story as far as the Police were concerned and he’s hardly that famous.
This officer was speaking to colleagues around the country for anything strange that would usually get swept under the carpet. I can’t get hold of him today. Perhaps I shouldn’t have uploaded that footage here?
Several possibilities spring to mind. Either someone is deliberately messing with us, faking a dead body. Maybe even combining it with REAL footage of whoever those other figures are making the circle.
Or its as BuffEnough suggests. A section spliced out from the official CCTV stream. This is something no one wanted anyone to see and my friend got it to us anyway.
This just gets worse. Not only do I think that vampires are lurking among us, but I’m starting to worry that someone higher up also knows or has known for some time.

Hate to sound alarmist but IF, and that’s a rather large if, vampires are ‘lurking’ and quietly feeding/killing people of course someone ‘higher up’ knows!!! Look around. We live in one of the most observed places on the planet. The question is: Who else is watching?
And just another note: at around 18/19 second I think the tape has been looped or some technical operation performed because the window pane with the light reflection, for want of a better word, wiggles.

Yeah, the whole thing is full of loops. You can see the same couple walking off the top of the screen at 14secs and 53secs. The flash in the upstairs window happens at 18secsw and 32secs and the first and last shots are definately the same piece of footage. Add to the that the lack of a time stamp (Very irregualar for genuine CCTV footage), I smell a rat! (or should that be a bat?)

There are 11 shots in this ‘tape’ from, what I can determine, 3 positions: A front on shot (of the wall with the street light on the right), a side on shot of the same street, and a ‘ahead only’ street.
1 - Front on - empty street
2 - 00:08 side on - empty street
3 - 00:10 front on - someone, maybe Milo, draws on the wall.
4 - 00:14 Ahead only - seemingly better lit street
5 - 00:16 side on - is it me, or is it lighter than before?
6 - 00:22 front on - little thing appears. No mark on the wall from shot 3.
7 - 00:29 side on empty street.
8 - 00:45 front on - person with salt and the walker.
9 - 00:53 Ahead only
10 - 00:55 NEW angle - either a zoom and pan from the side camera or a new camera altogether. ‘Dead’ body and much thicker salt ring.
11 - 00:59 front on - seems like a repeat of the first shot.

Think Milo knows something. IF we assume he is the artist scrawling something on the wall (Which i am convinced he is) then he is hanging around with the salt circle maker. And his next graphic novel or whatever is vampire concerned if the title is anything to go by. And why make a salt circle if there don’t know about its effect? And also why make a circle with nothing in it?
The body, so freaky, my personal belief is that the attack happened so quickly it happened in the brief moments the camera wasn’t on that street.
Another question, anyone recognise the street? Thinking the scrawl on the wall might still be there and might be worth checking out.
Also the place Chester had his attack/ talk thing. The flyer says Whistler Memorial Hall, Deacon Street. Anyone live near there?

yesterday Chester said he was going to do something to try and help find Caitlin. Caitlin seems to want to find Milo - at least thats what she said in her clue message.
i think Peetwee is right that this Milo must have answers. if Caitlin was as into vampires as she seemed perhaps she heard about Milo and his graphic novel before most of us did and went looking for him

I’ve done a google maps search for Deacon Street. There doesn’t seem to be one anywhere near London (which going off a previous blog entry, seems to be the place where Chester was holding his conference). I also can’t find any lead on Whistler’s Memorial Hall … the hunt continues.

Yes, the flyer was from one of his tour dates outside of London which he gave me when I first met him back in June.
I don’t even know where this street is that we’ve got footage from either. You’ve spotted so many things I took just took for granted with the video that I’m not even convinced that it was filmed in London either anymore.
